EROAD is a transport technology and telematics company that provides an automated electronic Road User Charges (eRUC) system for both light and heavy vehicle fleets. Approved by the New Zealand Transport Agency, EROAD utilizes in-vehicle hardware devices that replace traditional mechanical hubodometers and display digital RUC licenses directly on an integrated screen. The system uses GPS tracking to continuously record distance traveled and includes an "AutoRUC" feature, which automatically purchases new RUC distance units in legal minimum increments just before the current license expires. Additionally, EROAD's GPS technology maps off-road travel and custom geofences, allowing the system to automatically calculate off-road mileage and generate the required data for businesses to submit RUC refund claims directly to the New Zealand Transport Agency.
